Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of counselors who guide students on study abroad programs, including academic destinations, universities, courses, scholarships, and visa processes.

  • Oversee and ensure high-quality one-on-one counseling services to students, assisting them in choosing the right programs based on academic background, career aspirations, and personal interests.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the team, ensuring they meet individual and team goals in guiding students through university application processes, scholarship opportunities, and visa requirements.

  • Collaborate with international universities, educational agents, and relevant bodies to stay updated on program offerings, deadlines, and changes in admission criteria.

  • Develop and organize webinars, workshops, and presentations on study abroad options and the application journey, ensuring that the information provided is comprehensive and accurate.

  • Mentor and train team members in counseling techniques, application processes, and the nuances of international student mobility.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of student applications, ensuring that students have the required documents and adhere to deadlines.

  • Monitor the team’s performance and provide regular feedback to ensure high standards of student interaction, support, and satisfaction.

  • Manage the post-departure support system for students, ensuring they receive assistance in settling into their new academic environment.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for student success rates, application submission timelines, and customer satisfaction, providing regular reports to senior management.

  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with key educational partners, international universities, scholarship bodies, and visa agencies.

  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, application statuses, and outcomes in relevant CRM tools.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of international education systems, study abroad options, university admission criteria, scholarship processes, and visa procedures.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to meet departmental goals.

  • Ability to provide expert guidance in counseling students, addressing complex student queries, and offering practical solutions for their academic and visa-related concerns.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience in cross-cultural communication and working with international students.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

  • Expertise in managing application processes, including familiarity with online application platforms, student databases, and CRM tools.

  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve, helping students navigate emotional and logistical challenges of studying abroad.

  • Understanding of the latest global trends in education, study abroad programs, visa policies, and international student mobility.

  • Ability to analyze performance metrics, track team achievements, and adjust strategies to enhance student experience and success.

  • Proven track record in providing training, coaching, and professional development to a team of counselors or similar professionals.

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in education consulting, student counseling, or international student services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Proven experience in counseling students on study abroad programs, admissions, visa processes, and scholarships.

  • Familiarity with various international university systems, application procedures, and visa requirements.

  • Experience in leading a team in an educational consultancy or international education environment is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the study abroad market, international educational institutions, and student mobility trends.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools, student management systems, and other software for tracking applications and student data.
